Being Actively engaged in Chess in a Covid19 World

Lots of things have changed recently as a result of Covid, including tournaments and matches. That is okay, many of us are blessed more than others. Tournaments being closed aren't the end of the world. That being said, here are ways to be actively engaged in Chess during Covid19:

1. Online Rated Tournaments:

Outside of Chess.com, there are actual Chess federation level rated online tournaments including ones for play at the Internet Chess Club.

2. More time to study:

Since traditional tournament season isn't open, this leaves you more time to read up on openings or practice endgame strategy

3. Streaming

Perhaps start a Chess stream, or even watch Chess streams. This could actually be a comprehensive use of your time.

4. Garnish a Following

If you are one of the higher rated players out there, now might be a good time to start blogging more or garnishing more of a following. This can help you seek out sponsorship deals and now would be a better time to do it rather than "tournament season".
