What It Feels To Have Roles in Clubs:

Well, long time since the last blog, eh? Thought this would be a nice somewhat educational blog for people who haven’t really experienced what it felt. Let’s start this with a short introduction about my experience in clubs. I’m an admin in Chess.com vs. Chesskid, and Bay Area Chess. SA of Chess Temple, and owner of 900 members club. (Forsaken’s Nostalgic Hangout, joinnn- https://chess.com/club/forsakens-nostalgic-hangout) For what I truly feel about having these roles in big clubs, stick around towards the end to find out what I feel about it.

Chapter 1: What the HECK even are roles in clubs!?

Well, I can’t really get on with the blog if you don’t know what roles even are in clubs. Skip this  if you already know what it is.  Let’s go from small to big, eh?

Members: They don’t do anything nor do they have special perks really. They can make forums (if it’s allowed for members), post notes in Notes, speak in the live chat, and that’s all. They have the lowest ranks and don’t have much authority (well unless they’re a mod/staff for cc ig-)

Coordinators: They’re just like members, but are able to create chess events for the clubs! Vote Chess are made for teamwork. Daily Matches are also made for teamwork but you play your own separate games. They’re also able to delete stuff in live chat. Slightly more authority than members.

Admins: They are able to do much more things, they have the powers of coordinators, and are able to delete notes and forums, edit and lock forums. They also have the power to make announcements, and ban/kick/mute only members I believe. They can also invite for the club with the invite system, one of the biggest features in clubs.

Super Admins: They’re admins and coordinators combined, and are able to change the clubs looks. (Please remove this feature, like why..) They’re able to promote someone to coord or admin or super admin. Are able to demote coords, admins, or each others.. (remove this too)

Owner: Has the most authority out of all the roles, the owner controls everything.

Chapter 2: Pro’s Of Roles

Well, we got one of the most boring chapter outta the way, and let’s move onto benefits/pros of having roles! You are respected and could be recognized for your work! (Unless you’re a lazy bum bum with 50 other admins that is -_-) I believe you can become a little bit more popular and known by other people. Mostly only works in big clubs since there’s more people that can see you in the admin tray. If you’re the owner of a club, and you grow it great, then you can probably be recognized and other people would want to have roles in your club so they work for it! (I think idk, I’ve mostly worked for my roles). People can also join your club without an invite which is a big stepping stone! 
Chapter 3: Con’s Of Roles

Well, I won’t be the one sugarcoating the reality of roles. Everything good has a bit of bad to it. Your team loses, good for you, the other team losses, bad for them. You’re getting ice cream, good for you, it’s overpriced, rip your parents wallets. After a bit, maybe a week -3 weeks, you’ll feel tired of doing it and start to lose motivation. When you lose motivation and don’t do it too often, you can be demoted due to slacking off. If it’s a club you don’t care about, good for you. A club you care about? Yeah, I’ve felt it before but I gotten the promotion back and it felt bad. (Not because I was slacking off, but I did something wrong and I didn’t know it). If it starts to feel l-l-like a j-job… that just means you need to take a break. Take a break and rest. No one will blame you for getting overworked. It will happen, and I’m sure it’s happened to every other club admin. School will make it feel much work if you’re trying to manage both at once since you waste 7 hours at school and maybe an hour on homework. If you’re an owner, and you don’t do too much for the first few days of you getting demotivated, it’ll probably slowly die off (Unless your admins work but eh). Don’t get desperate and mass dm invites, it will get you muted/banned. Just take it one step at a time. 
Chapter 4: What to do when I lose motivation?

Take a break. If you’re not an owner, you can tell the owner you’re too busy or you’re losing the will and they’ll most likely demote you, or let you keep your spot once you’re finished. Or you could just close your account and then come back whenever you want to. If you’re an owner, simple. Just don’t do anything until you feel like you want to work on it again. You can rebuild it back up, you can rebuild up about anything. Don’t overwork yourself, it’ll stress yourself out even more. If you still want to continue even though you’re lacking motivation, then don’t do too much at a time. Just make a few events, and maybe send out 10 invites. That’s probably the expected criteria most owners expect. Don’t overwork yourself, you deserve to feel happy If you want to know when to stop, probably when you don’t feel motivated or you’re tired and it feels like a job.

My opinion:

Well, this will be the last chapter since I can’t think of anything else to tell you. I invite for 4 clubs, but usually I only invite for 2 clubs a day, usually CVC and my club. I mean yeah I’m online 25/7, but it’s really not fun and I would rather spend my time doing something else. I wish I could follow my own advice I’ve provided for y’all but I prefer to be a hardworking person. You can always achieve something great with hard work. And what did I achieve with my hard work? Promotion from coord to admin. In my club, a dead 100-400 members club to an active 900 members club. I don’t stop since I don’t like letting people down and seeing a demotion message in my DMs from a club I like is just sad. Anyway, that’s all. See yall next time when I decide to make a blog again.
