Opening Repertoire - Danish Gambit
Hey chess friends. its been quite some time since the last post in this series,
now I have come with the next one in the series.
The Danish Gambit - one of the most effective and attacking blitz/bullet openings.
The basic concept is simple with white sacrificing a couple of pawns in order to get an aggressive position.
See below -
Now, this is when the fun begins, two bishops eyeing the kingside for a to-become feast.
Now, lets check out the part everyone loves -
Trap 1 -
There we go. Their kingside is just ready to be routed. No kingside knight for him, a queen ready to swallow his kingside and a fianchettoed bishop. Quite decent!
Another thing to keep in mind when playing this opening is to be aggressive on every move, even one passive move could lose your advantage.
Trap 2 -
And there goes their queen, a quick and easy trap, but very rare for it to happen.
Trap 3 -
Check both these cases as the latter is more likely to happen. A decent one as your missiles trouble the opponent king getting him to lose his queen.
How black should respond -
This is when you probably should not try doing the above trap as black has a nasty discovered attack being sent your way.
Now for the last trap, but definitely another beauty -
So there you go, a beauty of a checkmate with two ways to finish the game.
So those are the traps! Even if you don't manage to play it out in a game, it is good to try if you're around or below 1600. Hope it helped. If it did help, share it with your friends.
Peace out!
