A Pawn's Day - Part 1: The First Step on the Board Early hours of the morning... I open my eyes at another board. We are waiting with my eight siblings, lined up in an endless order. The surroundings are quiet, the tension is felt. Who will make the move today? Maybe it's not an ordinary day. I am a pawn. What to expect from a pawn? A small, simple, seemingly worthless stone... But not everyone knows that the path to great victories often passes through us. In a game without pawns, no one can checkmate. Life on the board begins with silence. Rival pawns are lined up opposite us, challenging us. With the first move, my brother in the front moves forward. Do I have the courage to take his place? My turn is coming. I move forward one square. Even though it seems like a small step, it is a revolution for me. I feel like everyone's eyes are on me now. I am face to face with an opponent's pawn. The pawns' looks are different: on the one hand, friendly, on the other, challenging. After a few moves, things start to get complicated.
