This game is listed as No. 27 in Bobby Fischer's Book "My 60 Memorable Games" and is the first of the "16 Game Match” (organized by Jacqueline Piatigorsky, N.Y./Los Angeles) to be played in Los Angeles.

As an adult, Reshevsky was never truly a professional chess player.  He gave up chess for seven years to complete his education and worked as an accountant.

Bobby Fischer called Reshevsky the best chess player in the world in the mid-50s.
