Credibility of Ratings

First and foremost, we have different reasons why we joined in this website.

If you are interested about my reason, simple, when i read their motto, "play, learn and share" what comes to my mind is, "this could be fun". I love sharing of ideas. So i registered and became one of the new members.

But as a "new member" of course, I have a 1200 rate, well not really my typical rating. So i decided to play more games to increase it a little bit. I won several games and also the "rating" changes.

But what I don't understand is, some members of this site misinterpreted the true meaning of "rating". Let's first define "Rating" , it is  the evaluation or assessment of something, in terms of quality (as with a critic rating a novel), quantity (as with an athlete being rated by his or her statistics), or some combination of both.

Yes that is the true meaning of rating, it is an assessment. But does the rating here, really reflects of who you are as a player? On my side, no, it does not really reflects to the skills that i have.

The rating here simply evaluates the number of games you won regardless of how you won it, either by  your "own knowledge" or by "cheating" . There are many ways to cheat without being caught, right? well, i don't want elaborate them here, since I don't want to tolerate cheating, cheating is not good, If you cheat it means you lied to yourself.

The rating tells you how you progressed in every game. But if you do "cheat" the rating will not be credible at all.

Therefore, for the new members and members with low rate in this website, don't feel that you are left out or felt so low, why? because there are plenty of rooms for improvement, you are here to play more games and learn from those games, know their openings , tactics , etc., and when you feel that you are good enough, then you can start sharing some ideas or knowledge that you have acquired.

Once again, the rating here only dictates the number of games you won, regardless of how you won it, either by true knowledge or by means of cheating.

The rating here does not really reflects of who you are as a true player. This is an online game, and everything may happens which can be uncontrollable to the administrator of this website.

Above all things, Just Enjoy the game! Have Fun! and Stay Humble at all times!
