Czech-Pirc Battering Ram!

Hey everyone, been awhile since I published anything but I thought I would share a couple of excellent moves I recently made use of which allows a particular trap if your opponent is unwary.

Normally we have move 4. Qa5 which creates the classic pin of the knight (so far I consider the game to be book up to this point) but because our opponent chose a Trompowski-style attack that brought his queen-bishop to our kingside, the normal Bd2 relief of the pin is unavailable.

So he is left with Qd2 to break the pin and support the hung bishop.  So far so good for both of us, 5. ... e5 6. Nf3 Be6

This move does not normally occur in any of my games nor in my book but I found it in this game due to the particular setup.  Its nice to have the bishop out before the knight for a change.

My opponent chose a non-threatening prophylaxis move with 9. h3? and WHAM, the battering ram slams into place 9. ... Bb4!

Now comes the trap of which he was completely unaware, when he played 10. a3?? which immediately creates an unavoidably losing position and from which he cannot escape: 10. ... Nxe4!!

I actually missed this trap in the game itself, which is quite embarrassing and is the reason I am posting it.  White's quiet moves like Qd3 & Qe3 are losing terribly and he is left with moves like 11. Qxd7+ or simply Nxe4.

For all you fans of the Czech Pirc, I thought I would share this so you could add it to your arsenal to crush unwary opponents who choose to use their queen to alleviate our knight pin!

I will try and discover more traps and good moves and post them here as I find them.  Until then, rozdrtit nepřítele!
