Introduction To Chess
In the summer of 2023, when I was a naive [not saying] year old, my uncle from Texas visited. He was 1500 rated. He taught me the game of chess, and then played against me. I lost EVERY GAME! He said to practice, but after he left, I never did. I just didn't have the enthusisasm.
Joining The Platform
Then, in December of 2024, my friend, a 1500, said, "Why don't you play on this website?" I said, "Meh." But then, my curiosity got the best of me. I joined this platform, and played a few games. I was TERRIBLE! I still am terrible, but this is one of my games.
Over The Board
Here, in May 2025, I started playing over the board tournaments. Actually, I only played 3. In my first one, I got 3rd. In my second, I got 4th. In my third and final tournament, I got 2nd.
Leaving For India
This time, I wentt to India for 2 months. All my activity was lost. I got kicked out of a lot of clubs, like The Royal Family Fork. I had a good time, but now, nobody knew anymore. I was back to square one.
The Lazy Days
This was the month of August. I barely got on, and I played 3 games in the whole month. Total laziness.
Semi-Quitting
For the rest of 2025, my account collected dust while I worried about school and extracurricular activities. But then, in January of 2026, my mom said, "Did you quit chess?" I didn't answer, but I knew the answer. Kind of.
Coming Back
Here, on my birthday, Jan. 31st, I came back! I started being active in clubs again, checked my 700 something notifications, and focused on my good friends, and The Illusion Fireballs. I made new friends, and was more popular than ever! Many people knew me, I joined many clubs, and had fun!
Grinding
This was from March - May 1st of this year. I struggled to get everything above 400. I succeeded, but am still battling to not tilt in one day and lose everything
Ok. That was a lot. Now chess means a lot to me. It is another life for me. That's a bad thing, I know, and I'm trying to find a balance. Now, I'm going to India again this year, for 2 months again, and I hope I don't lose my place in all my clubs, but if I do, I will rebuild my legacy.
That's all! Thank you!
