Nice to be back
I haven't been able to play much rated chess since the NJ team tournament as I was busy with a new job, buying a home, etc... I found myself with some free time last Tuesday and so I went down to the Metrowest Chess Club looking for a side game, expecting to get some 1600 but was surprised to get an expert! In fact, I was sporting a poor record against this expert (0.5 / 2) and have never had the White pieces against him. I was finally able to get the best of him in a nice positional struggle.
Let's throw in a few instructional quizzes from the game:
1.) White just played 15. Bh6 , who's pieces are better in this position?
2.) Who's pawn structure is better?
3.) Who would benefit if the position were to open?
Here is a a relatively easy combination to finish the game off:
Here is the full game, I hope you enjoy!
