CCCSA Fair Play Open U2000: One of my Best Performances! Saving a Game Down a Rook?!?!

I recently played in the CCCSA Fair Play Open in the U2000 on September 20th, 2020. I was one of the lowest-rated players in the Section and I wasn't playing for money, but for rating. But somehow I tied for 2nd Place with 3.5/4 winning $125 USD! Let's see some of my games.

In Round 1 I blundered a rook but I manage to hold after my opponent makes a fatal mistake. Never Resign! Because you never know if something like this will happen. Let's see what happened in Round 2! Hopefully not another rook blunder.

Here in Game 2, I'm playing Mr. Cheesy Checks who realizes he's getting mated so he decides to sac all his pieces to play a few more moves. Not Epic, but at least I won! This was a pretty fun game since I dominated for most of it.

Currently I have 2.5/3 and a shot at 2nd place, In the final round, I find myself playing white against a 1750 in a fight for $125! Don't worry I'm not gambling.

What a tournament! Saving a game down a rook, cheesy checks, a dirty checkmate, and a game for 125 Dollars! To view the final results Click Here! Hopefully you enjoyed this blog, I'm trying to post every 2 weeks but it's quite hard with school. (I'm only in elementary so I have plenty of time.) Thanks for reading, Peace.
