This 1 Elo Chess Bot Will Make You QUIT Chess

WHO is Mittens? What made it SO EVIL? Can it ACTUALLY defeat STOCKFISH?

Hello, Rushil here, and today, I will be answering all those questions here.

First of all, Welcome To My Blog!

Q1-  WHO Is Mittens?

=> Mittens is a Chess.com bot, added in Dec 2022 / Jan 2023. This is (most probably) a temporary bot. A shocking fact is that Mittens is 1 ELO. Yes, I said 1 ELO. Now, you might be thinking, why is it EVIL and (maybe) defeat Stockfish if it's 1 Elo? Hold your curiosity there, we will be covering this later in this blog.

Q2- Can I play Mittens and where?

=> (At the time of writing this) You can currently play this bot. You need to go to Play -> Computer -> Mittens. 

Q3- How many cat bots are there?

=> There are currently 5 cat bots. Namely-

->Scaredy Cat (800)

->Angry Cat (1000)

->Mr. Grumpers (1200)

->Catspurrov (1400)

->Mittens (1)

Q4- What is so SPECIAL about Mittens?
=> Many people, including GMs and YTbers like GothamChess (Levy Rozman) are playing this bot. It's SO STRONG. Heck, it even defeated GM Hikaru! Rumour has it that it is stronger than the one and only, Stockfish. We (or maybe only I) don't know for sure about the last statement.

Q5- Has ANYONE defeated Mittens?

=> Many say they have, but either by engine or by timeout. No one (currently) has beaten it.

So, Do YOU have the courage to beat Mittens?
