Hello everyone! Today I am going to show you... The Fishing Pole Trap!(You could probably tell from the title)

So basically, there are some points I'm going to show you before I start showing you:

  • Just most other traps...this trap includes a sacrifice of one of their pieces either for a checkmate or a more valuable piece
  • This trap derives from the basic, the classic, Ruy Lopez opening
  • Oh, and lastly, it's played by Black

The first set of moves, comes from the most popular start of all time, 1..e4 e5, fighting for control of the center, these moves allow for early development like allows the bishop to diagonals to eye down weak squares(such as f7 or f2).

Watch the Diagram below to see the Fishing Pole Trap!

White can also move the rook to the side and play Rook to e1, but this will still lead to black having a checkmate as opposed to 2 last time(but you only need one, right?) and it'll look like this....

Hope you enjoyed! bye! happy.png
