My #1 concern is pertaining to the "connection interruptions". I understand that the technical interpretation of the connection interruption can be abandonment of the game, which automatically means loss of the game. I think that this is happening to a whole lot of players. But I don't see it being talked about much. I know that this happens to me an awful lot, and it could very well be a router problem, I'm willing to accept that, but it often occurs during key points in my game, and several times exactly when I make a strong move, as if that move triggered it! It also occurs when access to the sites at my other tabs remain open and unaffected. It makes me wonder if there is some kind of hacker software foulplay going on. Of course it does. But then I do realise that some software-savvy players are actually bereft of the dignity of honor in earning their victories. Lately, I have lost almost every other game due to this myterious "connection interruption" phenomenon. I'll be winning a game, and then, "connection interrupted. reconnecting...". I can't do anything about it, and then I lose, and the screen says, "...abandoned game" when that is not the case. Three games ago, I had 5 connection interruptions in my game and then I lost this way. This totally takes the fun out of the whole thing. But that's not all. The very last game I played before writing this blog also featured these miserable connection interruptions, but in addition to these, I witnessed a peculiar vaccillation of the counters. Near the end of the game, our clocks had approximately the same time, but then to my horror, I saw the my opponent's clock time shoot up by say, an addtional minute extra, and my clock time go down! I watched as the numbers did all kinds of crazy stuff. I have watched this happen many, many times (every time being in my disfavor), but I cannot document it unless I were to film it by camera-- but while playing the game? I wonder what my rating would be if all of this hadn't been happening. I lost this last game due to being out of time, when I really wasn't out of time. I can't even tell you how many games I have lost because of this, and I don't want to be worrying about losing the game by force of technology when I'm actually winning. I tell you I would much rather lose by someone cheating with a chess engine than by this "connection interrupted. reconnecting...". This is getting to be too much, and I would appreciate some authoritative imput on this matter.
