A powerful battery

A powerful battery

This game I played recently against a 1900 player is quite instructive on how a positional move (sacrificing a pawn) and the increased pressure on the two main diagonals helped to win this game. Never underestimate the power of a battery!

The end-position was quite remarkable, as the white king found himself behind three enemy minor pieces instead of his pawns!

Cheers, Stefan

In this blog I'll showcase some of my preferred games with different themes for fun or educational purposes and also to get your feedback on what could have been done different or better.
