Intro:

Hey there, mate! 👋 In this blog, I’ve shared three unforgettable games with you that boosted my Elo by 200 points 💥 Each match taught me something surprising... sometimes the hard way... and every move helped shape the player I’m becoming 🧠

Whether you're just starting your Chess journey or already a GM in disguise 😎 I bet you’ll either learn something new… or spot a few moments that'll make you go “Ah, I’ve been there!” 🤯

So grab your favorite beverage ☕ tighten your seatbelt (or hoodie 🎯) and let’s dive into the mind battles that flipped the board literally and figuratively 🔥

Me vs NM:

This first game was a special one, I got the rare chance to play against NM Coach Dane right after a free session, all thanks to one of my blogs being picked as POTM🏆 It wasn’t just a friendly match; it was a crash course in smart trading 💼 After facing his precise moves, I finally understood how powerful smart exchanges can be. And guess what? That very lesson helped me pull off successful intermezzos in my later games! 🎯

Me vs CC:

This was my second game against a HR player, who’s also my CC🧑‍🏫 What a game it turned out to be! I learned just how crucial a checkmate attack can be ♟️. In the game I aimed for his queen 🏰, thinking I had him cornered... but nope! He flipped the script and went straight for my king 👑, teaching me how fast things can spiral from calm to chaos 🔥. That lesson stuck with me, and guess what? It helped boost my Elo too! 🚀

Me vs CO:

This lady, this dama... this dame... she is the reason why I got the chance to play above 2 games with HR players, and she helped me to improve my blogs with her insightful CC reviews ✨So, in this third game, I faced off against my CO, who’s also a HR player 👩‍🦰 She played casually with me, but through her relaxed approach, I stumbled upon an important insight...how to crack the Tarrasch rule 🔍 While it’s a draw, the real gem here was realizing the significance of making the best moves 🏆🎯This classic endgame tactic was new to me, but now that I’ve seen it in action, I’m ready for it in the future 🚀. If I ever face it again, I’ll play just like she did! 🔥

My thoughts:

Yeah, before these three battles, 'King of Blunders and Rushed Moves' 👑💥 was pretty much my title. But playing those HR players? Something just clicked big time 🤯 It forced me to really think twice, calculate way deeper, and treat every single move with respect ♟️ And the payoff? I'm blundering way less now (still human though! 😅) and finding better moves way more often. I seriously hope my journey helps you level up your game and boost your Elo too 🚀!

😄 Thanks for reading, mate! 😄
