The story of chess: part three

The black king saw his whole kingdom was being threatened. And his dignity. He was still deciding what he cared about more.

Then he saw it. He told the troops in his castle to run to the end of the battlefield, aiming their spears at the white king. 

Then a small man on a pony holding a tiny scroll (he was very white) said to the black king "We wish to resign. Sinserly, (in very neat handwriting) The White King."
