UPDATE: Just to clarify, this blog discusses Frank and CDawgVa's games near the start of the tournament. These matches are not what occurred in the finals of the Championship Bracket. For information on that, click HERE.

Earlier today, two of the titans in PogChamps 5 battled it out in a match up that decided the winner of Group A. Frank took on CDawgVa and was obliterated as he went 0-2 against the stronger player.

In the first game, Frank blundered his knight on move 10. Originally, CDawg didn't see this error. However, he noticed that the piece was hanging several moves later and quickly gained a decisive advantage.

Only a few moves after that, CDawg sacrificed his bishop - which was a brilliant move - and quickly found mate in 2 to get the victory. He finished the game with a very impressive 84.5 accuracy score.

The second game was much longer, but Frank still eventually fell apart. The cheeky chess YouTuber played well in the opening, but he blundered his rook 20 moves into the battle and seemed to stand no chance the rest of the game.

After giving up his rook, Frank also left his bishop hanging, which CDawg was able to capitalize on. Frank traded bishops and had next to no material left to counterattack with, and he was mated shortly thereafter.

Near the end of the game, CDawg pulled out a Chess coloring book and began using it, as the game was all but wrapped up anyways. The distraction did not seem to improve his play - as he missed mate in 1 shortly after he began using it - but he was quickly able to wrap up the game and win the series 2-0.

Over the course of these two games, CDawgVA won Group A and clearly demonstrated that he is a force to be messed with in this tournament. Frank is one of the better players in PogChamps and the fact that these matches were completely lopsided is likely quite concerning for the rest of the field. It sends a message to everyone else in the tournament: Watch out, because your prep may be nowhere near enough against CDawg.
