Chess Tricks!

Hi Selene2008 here! This is my first blog post so I hope you enjoy! You know how to checkmate, a long frustrating process. Many of you know about this simple strategy... but many don’t too! Read on if you want to find out what this is. 

So if you have two pieces or more that can move in straight lines sideways (queens and rooks), this trick will work! It “could” work with bishops seeing as if they also move in straight lines but this is easier and we should go over it first instead of the other one which I might be covering soon in another post.

First what you have to do is surround the king anywhere on the board. Like this.The opponent does not have to only have a king to make it work but it does make it easier to catch the king with no interference. Then you would lower a sideways moving piece to keep the opponent’s king for moving to another number row.After that you are almost promised a win! Just slide in the other piece to pin the king.
