As some of you know and as some of you people in the Rockefeller saw when they were searching my account, I played in the Rockefeller. It was a 3-day event, with a day before it to play blitz and learn about your opponents. There was also a Magic Show for the people in the Rockefeller, and a Meet and Greet for the people in the Denker. At 7:00 PM at night, well, the pieces started flying.
Game One: Inaccuracies, Non-Ideal Start
What a great start to the tournament! I won't show game 2, but basically what happened was that I was playing a 900 who I beat in 20 moves. But game 3 got challenging.
Game Three: Smooth Tactics and A Good Conversion at 11 PM.
Good win. But now I have to play the highest rated player in the whole tournament, Ryo Chen. Guess what happened?
Game Four: How to go from lost to winning to lost to a draw vs a 2300.
That was a crazy game. Now, because of space constraints, I won't show the remaining 2 games. I won both of them, very uncleanly, but I did win, and I became the Rockefeller co-champ. Yey!
An actual good chess player! Wow! (jk I suck)
Time to go home, right? Well.... On the day that our flight was supposed to send us back home, our flight just had to get canceled. Fantastique! So I got an excuse to play in the U.S. Open. I'm only going to show 2 games from the U.S. Open.
Game 4: A 1400 loses in a nice fashion. I am white.
That was fun to play through. The last game is the game I won against a 2170. I was white.
This is my performance in the Rockefeller/US Open. This is my return to blogging, hopefully you liked this blog.
