The Summer of Chess
It's hard-to-believe how far-away events, in Washington, D.C., since late-January (i.e. the ongoing Federal meltdown comprised of looming threats of sudden dismissal, repeatedly made to all U.S. government employees—myself included—followed by the much-publicized DRP or Deferred Resignation Program), should wind up coming together (through Divine Intervention I would say), to enable me to play some amazing tournaments this year. Exceeding my wildest expectations, in their sheer number and variety, Summer 2025 rapidly became one of my best times for chess, yet, during which I played the following events:
The 2025 Pan-American Amateur Championship (U2000), in San Pedro Sula, Honduras
