What is a ban attack ? A ban attack happens when troller gets admin or super admin and starts demoting or banning members from the club without any reason. This results in the huge loss of members in the club.

If Your club is under ban attack , then follow these rules :-

Step 1: Identify the Attack

Confirm the Attack

Check if multiple trusted members are reporting unexpected bans.
Look for sudden spikes in member removals or suspicious activity.
Verify if any trusted admins are compromised.
Decline New Joins ( when said )

Temporarily disable membership requests to prevent more intruders.

Step 2: Stop the Attack

Identify the Source

Identify suspicious accounts linked to the attack.
Cross-reference reports with other trusted clubs or PAIBA's admins
 Ban Malicious Accounts

Remove attackers immediately.
Use the club's audit logs to identify patterns.
Enable Message Moderation ( when said )

If spam messages are flooding the chat, temporarily restrict message permissions ( mute )

Step 3: Damage Control
 Inform Your Members

Post an urgent announcement informing members about the situation.
Advise affected users to report wrongful bans directly to you or your trusted admins.
Restore Trusted Members

Start by re-adding verified members who were mistakenly banned

Take screenshots of suspicious activities, banned member lists(possible only if ur admin or sa) and attacker profiles.

Step 4: Report & Collaborate
Report the Attack

Share the attacker details in PAIBA’s notes , live chat or to a trusted sa
Inform other clubs in the Networking & Partnerships forum for wider awareness.
 Contact Platform Support (If Needed)

If your club suffers severe losses of members ,seek platform support ( chess.com club community) immediately.

Step 5: Strengthen Your Club Security
Audit Admin Roles Regularly

Consider restricting new joins to invite-only or approval-based entry.
 Educate Your Team

Train admins on identifying suspicious behavior early.

Step 6: Stay Connected

Stay updated on emerging threats and connect with other clubs for faster responses.
By following these steps, you can effectively respond to a ban attack while protecting your club’s community and reputation.
