A novel way to lose this time: a near perfect opening, well ahead on the clock as my opponent struggled to make anything of the game - then I miscalculate a trivial combination and lose a piece. No real excuse for that at all!
On a brighter note, I met a player from the opposition who I had last seen, as a team-mate of mine, back in 1979; so that was fun at least.
