Asheville June Open Round 2
One of the more difficult things about losing a game in a tournament is having to dust yourself off, push the mental reset button and sit down for another game. Sometimes I can do it, and other times my mind is still stuck in the last round. I was lucky to be able to pull this game out, even though it really could have went either way.
Once again, the quickness of the G/60 time control reared its ugly head to nullify the advantages I had built up earlier. It is a bit ironic actually. I spend extra time to get a good position, and then have little time left to do anything with it. But at least I have learned to recognize this and can take steps against it.
