Carolinas Classic Round 3
My 3rd round game at the 2017 Carolinas Classic in Charlotte, NC taught me to look further into my calculations even when it looks like a line that I shouldn't go down. I suppose the thing that separates the strong players (titled for example) from the rest of us is the ability to see ahead clearly, consider all of the branches of the variations, and be able to assess the resulting position when the smoke clears, all before making their move. Luckily, my oversight was not fatal and I was able to achieve the same result, an extra piece, a few moves later, but only with some help from my opponent. I think that more tactics work is in order for me still so that my calculation skills can be more accurate.
