A game from the London League
I played in the London League on Monday evening (its been a busy week so I haven't had time to blog until now). I was board seven, and my opponent was similarly rated (I am 149, he was 154). I was black and my opponent opened with Nf3. My knowledge of English/Reti setups is limited; I try to play similar moves to the Grunfeld, playing d5 before white can get in e4.
I felt that I played accurately, and the only way I could have posed additional problems for my opponent was through 14...a6.
I took a draw in the final position as I felt it had high drawing tendencies, playing for a win would have been risky, and I have previously played on in such positions and lost them.
