On April 18 round number 7 had commenced and Ding played the legendary French defense!
It hasn't been played in 45 years in the World Chess Championship.
Ding played the French Tarrasch a solid opening
as they keeped playing moves Ding takes way to much in the Opening and Middlegame, Ding started getting into time trouble but on move 22 he played a brilliant move! Nxf4!!

As the game progressed even more the game looked like it was a dead draw but because Ding was in time trouble with only 9 minutes on the clock he took 4 minutes to make move 31, Ding has to play 9 moves in 5 minutes and 30 seconds. But Ding crashed he took 5 minutes to play the next move which was a mistake and leaving him with 45 seconds to make 8 more moves. As Ding kept trying to battle his oppenent. But soon because of time pressure he was in a loosing postition, making him resign the game. A huge win for Nepo in round 7
