Is Kirsan's FIDE Reign Over?

These are troubled times for the unloved leader of FIDE Kirsan Illyumzhinov, having sanctions imposed on him by the U.S. Government and being accused of trading Daesh (or Isis/Isil whatever) oil.

Reports today suggest that Kirsan has finally stepped down as FIDE president. Cue the celebrations in 3,2,1...
