Chess960 Was Accidentally Invented by Emanuel Lasker

In my historical researches, I came upon a Max Euwe interview that he gave to De Telegraaf on 15th September 1936, after the Nottingham tournament. That's what the world champion said about Emanuel Lasker:

"Lasker is still full of great ideas. For instance, he came up with a way to decrease the probability of a draw in chess games - Capablanca's nightmare. Lasker had a very good solution. Before the game, you draw lots to determine the placement of pieces - the king, the rooks, etc., leave everything to chance, and only then begin the game. In this way, you cannot "decide to draw" your opponent beforehand and play for a draw from the very beginning. As you know, Lasker is an excellent bridge player, and, as I understand, he wants to create some hybrid between bridge and chess. After all, in bridge, you never know your hand in advance."
