The Fun of 1600-level Chess: A Couple Positions from My Games

I recently played a unique game: White had not one, but TWO extra Queens, but still got checkmated by force. The game itself is not particularly high-quality, and White really should have won, but the finish is truly spectacular.

And another position, with three different tactical ways to win.

Puzzle Rush training does work - at least as a tool to improve tactical vision. My positional skills are abysmal, but, then again, that's why I'm a 1600-strength player
