A Deeper Look at Openings (Control the Center)
My Study Session: I spent 30 minutes reading an article on chess.com about opening principles. It hammered home the idea that controlling the center is key to a good game.
The Principles: I wrote down my three key takeaways:
Get my center pawns out first (e4 and d4).
Develop my minor pieces (knights and bishops) toward the center.
Don't move the same piece twice in the opening.
My Plan: For the next few games, my only goal will be to follow these three rules. I won't care about the outcome; I just want to build good habits. I'll check the analysis afterward to see how I did.
