Principles of chess
1. Control the center
Try to control the central squares (e4, d4, e5, d5) with your pawns and pieces.
The center gives your pieces more space and power.
2. Develop your pieces early
Get your knights and bishops out quickly (usually before the queen and rooks).
Don’t move the same piece multiple times in the opening unless needed.
3. Protect your king (castle early)
Castling brings your king to safety and connects your rooks.
It’s best to castle in the first 10 moves if possible.
4. Don’t bring your queen out too early
The queen is powerful, but if you bring it out too soon, it can be attacked easily.
5. Connect and activate your rooks
After castling and developing pieces, try to bring your rooks to open or semi-open files.
6. Avoid unnecessary pawn moves
Pawns can’t move back, so don’t weaken your position with random pawn pushes.
7. Think before every move
Always ask: "Is this move safe? What is my opponent threatening?"
Following these principles helps you build a strong position and avoid early blunders. Master the basics, and you’ll improve fast! ♟️🔥
