Hi, I'm @Sunshine_Inferno, and welcome to my book blog. Today, I'm going to be reviewing the classic romance novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

My rating:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5 stars

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

(We all know this is not true, but let's move on.)

Pride and Prejudice... It's a timeless comedy of manners and... What? I'm having a moment here. Oh, fine. *huffs*

Pride. The arrogant Mr. Darcy makes a highly uncalled-for comment at a party regarding our spirited protagonist, Elizabeth Bennett.

Prejudice. Due to this comment, which was heard by Elizabeth, a prejudice is developed against Mr. Darcy.

This book chronicles the adventures of Elizabeth and Darcy and how (spoiler) they eventually fall in love.

My Thoughts

This was a very fun book to read between all that dark YA fantasy that I've been into lately and is, truthfully, the essential rom com. You have to realize here that Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are the first, iconic literary example of the enemies-to-lovers couple, and it's perfection.

Of everything in the book, Elizabeth's mother irked me most - all she thinks about is marrying off her daughters! But I realize that this is supposed to be realistic to this time period.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

xoxo, Sunshine
