4 Important Rules of Endgames
- 4 Important Rules of Endgames is what we will be discussing today.
Get your king in the center.
Sometimes you will lose or draw the game because you weren't able to get the king in the center or if you did then you weren't able to get it the right time when your pawns and other pieces need the king in the center. In the endgame, the majority pieces are off the board the king because very powerful and should be in the action in the game and support his pieces to attack the opponent's ones.
You should be thinking about how to get my king in the center when the endgame begins.
Put your rook behind the passed Pawns.
This is one of the many important you should follow and remember while you are in an endgame
Many players mess up while they are winning because they have their rooks in front when it is supposed to be in the back. The rook(s) in the back help supports the pawn until it is promoted it can also stop or threaten the king and pieces from a safe distance.
If you are an exchange down try not to exchange rooks.
Rooks are very useful in the endgames and In my opinion, the rooks are endgame queens because they are really powerful in an endgame like a queen is in openings and Middle games the rooks can guard the open files and ranks if you don't have a rook in the endgame most of the time your position will collapse.
Opposition
Opposition is a really important rule in endgames you will need it most of the time and is really important when the game is King + Pawn vs King and if you play the moves correctly if the opposition then you might have a chance of a draw if you are the person with only the king.
