Whats the deal with Today's updated format and sounds?

Today I log in, like I do every day before I start working, and the sounds are different.  This doesn't bother me but what does is the board sensitivity.  I'm on the same computer and made no changes to my curser speed but now the pieces sometimes move before I'm done with my click and drag.  It’s killing me.  Please Help!
