Here, in this position, black is a knight up. But one of the black's knight is under a crucial pin by white's queen and attacked by the rook too. White's two bishops are very active and controlling important squares. If white doesn't break the pin, he will be down material. There's only one move that can keep black in the game. What's the move? (Hint: You gotta break the pin)

If you said f6 to protect the knight then congrats, you can finally resign. You made black lose cuz after f6, black can play Nxe6 to which white gonna reply with Qxe6. But now you see the problem? Now the knight is pinned to 2 pieces. One is king and the other is queen. The opponent can simply play d4 and your knight will be gone.

If you said Ka8 then congrats, you found the non-violent option. After the trading on e5, black would have a rook for a bishop but there are 2 problems,
1. White's two bishop are so active that it's gonna be hard to play as black.
2. White still got a passed pawn and is 2 pawns up.

If you said Nc7 THEN CONGRATS, YOU'VE FOUND THE COUNTER ATTACK. It attacks the white bishop while breaking the pin. If white doesn't do something, then soon black gonna get his king to a8 and white will run out of tricks.
My opponent in this position trades rook for two pieces.

So, why did we move our knight to c7? To capture the bishop, right? Can we do it? No. Why? Cuz our knight is pinned. So what do we do? Play Ka8... SIKE, it gives white time to move his bishop out of the danger and win the game. So, how can you prevent the bishop from escaping? DID YOU SAY b5? CUZ THAT'S CORRECT. It traps the bishop.

My opponent plays Qg3. Keeping the pin. The dust has settled so your king can simply move out of the way. His bishop ain't going nowhere. It's trapped.
