Paul Keres (1916–1975) was an Estonian chess player. Keres was voted the Estonian Athlete of the 20th century. Paul became champion of Estonia for the first time in 1935. He finished second or equal second in four straight Candidates' tournaments (1953, 1956, 1959, 1962).
