Why the "FEN"?

Looking at the "FEN" and seeing the result from a chess engine one time, just one time, isn't that cheating? Then why the "FEN"? Making it easy available to players is too much for some players. They can't resist. Because no one likes to lose. But to lose to a chess engine after playing hard is very discouraging. Personally, once I figured out what it was used for, tried it out even, I realized that the moves generated wasn't of my own, therefore what good is it? If it is not of my own creativity, then why? It certainly isn't improving my chess any, and that's what's it's all about, right? What do you all think? : ) Later ... ^ _ ^ ...
