What's The Best Chess Website?
Are you curious to see how your favorite chess site compares against the competition? I went incognito and checked out websites - some major, some... very minor. From Chess.com and Lichess to the dark corners of the internet like SparkChess. What started as a simple review turned into a crazy ride with pop-up ads, horrible UI's, and more.
We cover the following:
Chess.com
The most polished and popular platform with great content, a large community, but filled with ads and paywalls (and a few bugs).
Lichess.org
Sleek, ad-free, totally free, and super smooth - if you can get past the aesthetic.
Internet Chess Club (ICC)
It's... there. Functional, but maybe the revival isn't as successful as one might hope.
SparkChess
I refuse to summarize this one. SparkChess must be experienced.
Great for serious puzzle training, but playing games here feels like walking alone through a desert. Thirsty.
