Chess Plan 2023
Happy New Year everyone!
I hope everyone is having a good and safe New Year so far. Mine is going well and I want to take this time to layout my plan of chess improvment for the year. I intend to blog on a regular schedule so I can create a habit. Then by fostering and building on this habit I will form the discpline necessary to accomplish the goals layed out before me.
This plan will consist of several daily activites summarized below. Future blog post will go in-depth into each of these topics.
- Reading: I will be doing daily reading from a list of 11 books I intend to study throughout the year.
- Tactics Study: Create and implement a daily regimen of tactics study.
- Online Puzzle Solving: Daily Puzzle on Chess.com, 1-3 Puzzle Rushes, and 10+ Puzzles everyday.
- Over-the-Board (OTB): Begin playing with a chess clock and hand recording games.
- OTB #2: Join United States Chess Federation (USCF).
- OTB #3: Start playing at the Fayetteville Chess Club.
- OTB #4: Prep for and play in a Local Tournament.
- Blog Posting: I am going to be posting twice a week for now but the fequency will likely increase as the year goes on.
- Streaming: I want to get setup and begin streaming online chess on Twitch this summer.
I hope everyone will join me on this chess improvement journey. I look forward to meeting everyone and hopefully being across the virtual board from you.
