Hitting the clock with 1 second left (My First IM Norm!!)

Tani has just got an IM Norm at the New York Spring Invitational! After a tough result in his last tournament, Tani was ready to have a great tournament this time around. Tani started off hot with 3/3, but many wondered if he could keep up his results as he played stronger opponents. But Tani didn't slow down by beating Fide Master Aaron Jacobson in round 4, and holding a solid draw with black against Grandmaster Mark Paragua in round 5! With this amazing start, it was time for the young FM to just play solid by not losing games, and with this, he was able to go 1.5/2 on his penultimate day. This meant that in order to get the norm, he would have to get 1 point out of his last 2 games both against International Masters on the final day! In round 8 Tani secured half a point against IM Aleksandar Savanovic, and just days ago agreed to a quick draw against IM Attila Istvan Csonka. This means Tani has finished with 7/9, securing his first IM Norm and gaining 120 rating points! Tani still needs 2 more IM Norms and 2400 FIDE elo in order to obtain the IM title, but with the way, he has been playing it's no doubt that this will be coming soon! -@Vslymrzv on chess.com (vasilymorozov#4912 on discord)

As you can tell I got my first IM Norm!!!

Here below are the games they will go in order with my writing and explanations

(Bonus) I Talked to Levy (Gothamchess) after the tournament ended.

Now in the first game was a bit odd and we played a Queens Indian with was completely fine but then he got a big center and I tried to explore the center it worked but I had to sacrifice an exchange for that now Pause ⏸ (I am dead lost) So after maybe like 5 moves after the exchange I offer a draw (I knew he wasn't going to take) but just a good try. He declined and then he found a way to trade queens. I was 💩 at this time. And I magically won!

So yep this was a smooth game

Wow

Now here was a pretty quick draw it was 29 moves and I had the 2 bishops at the end so it was hard for anybody to play

Wow!!

Now my last 2 games were calm. but I was very nervous I had 6/7 and all I needed was 1/2 = 2 draws or = 1 win and I was black but I managed to make a draw I offered a draw in the first 8 moves but he declined because he wanted to play a game and then I managed to make a draw and now I have 6.5/8 and all in need is 1 draw just 1

And I did it!!! I made a draw in 5 moves with Attila (My Opponent) and I ended with 7/9 getting the norm  and he offered me a draw (I didn't offer him a draw.

Also Happy Earth Day
