Hello, everyone! This is @TecDragoman, and today I'm going to write about one of my faorite chess players and streamers: Hikaru Nakamura. If you don't know who he is, you're in for a treat. Hikaru is a chess prodigy, a five-time US champion, a world-class grandmaster, and a popular online personality. He has millions of fans and followers on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram, where he shares his passion for chess and entertains his audience with his witty commentary and amazing skills. In this blog post, I'll tell you more about his life story, his achievements in chess, and his influence on the online chess community. Let's get started!

Hikaru Nakamura was born on December 9, 1987, in Hirakata, Japan. His father is Shuichi Nakamura, a Japanese citizen who worked as a systems engineer, and his mother is Carolyn Weeramantry, a Sri Lankan-born American citizen who worked as a chess teacher. Hikaru has a younger brother, Asuka Nakamura, who is also a chess player. Hikaru's parents divorced when he was two years old, and he moved to the United States with his mother and brother. He grew up in White Plains, New York.

Hikaru learned to play chess from his stepfather, Sunil Weeramantry, who is also a chess master and an author of several chess books. Sunil taught Hikaru the basics of the game when he was five years old, and soon realized that Hikaru had a natural talent for chess. Hikaru became obsessed with chess and spent hours studying the game and playing online. He also participated in many tournaments and won several trophies and medals.

Hikaru's first major breakthrough came in 1998, when he became the youngest American master ever at the age of 10 years and 79 days. He broke the record previously held by Bobby Fischer, who achieved the same feat at the age of 13 years and 5 months. Hikaru continued to improve his rating and skills, and in 2003, he became the youngest American grandmaster ever at the age of 15 years and 79 days. He broke another record held by Fischer, who became a grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 6 months.
