How To Crush The Sicilian In 3 Check: 4. Nge7
This line is often played by high rated players because in practice it scores better than most of the other lines. However, if you know the refutation then the game will likely end very quickly.
Plans and ideas:
- When Black plays 4. Nge7 then play Ng5 with the idea to sacrifice on either f7 or e6 depending on how Black responds.
- If Black plays Qh4 after Nxf7 then play g3 to force Black's Queen to move. Don't rush to play Nd6+ too early. Ideally you only want to give this check when you can follow-up with additional checks or threats. Giving this check too early will help Black develop and give them potential to set up a counter attack.
- If Black plays Qb6 after Nxe6 then sacrifice your Knight for a check on c7 in order to avoid losing time. Follow-up with Qh5 to prevent Black's Queen from checking on e5.
