Plans and ideas:

  •  Play actively in the center to punish Black's slow a6 move.
  • Don't hesitate to sacrifice pawns in exchange for development. If Black is greedy then they will lose quickly.
  • You can also allow Black to get a check in exchange for development.
  • Always be on the lookout for deflection tactics to get checks.
  • If Black castles Queenside then always sacrifice your Bishop on a6 to destroy Black's defense around their King. Follow up the sacrifice with Qd3 or Qe2.
  • You can usually afford to sacrifice multiple pieces for a 2nd check or to maintain the initiative in this opening due to the vulnerability of Black's King. You should have enough resources in reserve to get a third check.
  • Always focus on creating threats towards Black's King. The initiative is very important so try to avoid playing passive moves whenever possible.
These last games show how to play when Black tries to challenge the Knight on e4 with an early d5. I will be showing games of other players because I recently changed how I play this line.
