In the Beginning...

Hello and welcome to my first ever chess blog. First blog, first post and I'm going to share a little bit about myself. My name is Yusthariq Wan Yusoh, aged 22. I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Malaysia is just north of Singapore, in case you're silently asking "where in the world is Malaysia?"). In this first ever post, I wish to admit that I'm still a beginner in chess.
I always keep in my mind that there's nothing to be ashamed to be a beginner in chess. Instead, being a beginner in chess is by far one of the greatest and most fantastic experience I ever have. I only believe in one fact about learning chess: it's never too late to learn and never too old to become a beginner.
However, learning without a teacher is proven to be worthless. We tend to do mistakes and stick by them for a lifetime just because of self-misdirection. This chess blog is intended to serve for learning purposes of not only me, but other chess beginners as well. I intend to share everything that I learn so that anyone can share their own views. Feel free to comment on anything in this blog. Sharing thoughts is also a good way of expending knowledge.
"In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn."
-Phil Collins
Don't ever expect a proper tutorial-style post. I'll just share everything I learn and I really hope that you can share your own too.
