Rey Enigma, chess youtuber who currently has 1.2M subscribers, is a Spanish chess player who hides his identity, and has been speculated to play at the Grandmaster level. Most games played at once while blindfolded

Chess demands total concentration - Bobby Fisher

Have you ever tried playing blindfold chess? Have you ever enabled blindfold on chess.com’s settings and then you hang your queen when a pawn comes right out of nowhere? It's hard to remember exactly where the pieces are on a mental chessboard, and imagine you had to remember three games, or even ten games and still win most of them. explorer

Imagine thinking about this position in your head. Can you remember it all?

Grandmaster Timur Gareyev played 48 games, blindfolded on December 3, 2016. The simul took over 19 hours with a astonishing win rate of 80% against his opponents, which their average elo being 1700. (35 Wins, 7 Draws, 6 Loses)

Gareyev had experience with playing blindfolded, playing 33 games in St Louis, and 35 in Santa Clara. This event was hosted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He even rode a electric bike, wanting to exercise in the long event, and only had six hours of sleep the night before.

Biggest Simul Event

A chess board of tables and more chessboards

This description is short, but the event is definitely not. We seen Gareyev play his blindfolded simul, but what if there is a event that is 500 times bigger then his simul? That what we will see in India, as this simul have a whopping 20,480 people, beating the old record of 13,446 in Mexico City by 7,000 people.

The simul have 20,017 players vs 1,024 masters, including former champion Viswanathan Anand,  with each master playing against a table of 20 players, and each group of tables being white or black, representing a giant chess board. The event was organized by the Sports Authority of Gujarat, at the University of Gujarat Sports Grounds in India.

Youngest Grandmaster

"No Chess Grandmaster is normal, they only differ in the extent of their madness"

- Viktor Korchnoi

Achieving the title of Grandmaster is probably the hardest challenge in Chess before becoming a World Champion. It can take chess players many years, or even decades to become a grandmaster. However, people who learn chess in their early age and plays it and studies it, likely improve faster then adults. The youngest person to achieve this title is Abhimanyu Mishra, who got the rating at 12 years old, and 4 months

Abhimanyu Mishra broke other records as he improved quickly. He broke the record of getting the title of National Master at 9 years old, and International Master at 10. He first playing chess around 2 years old, and started playing tournaments at 5. Two years later, he got a USCF rating of 2000, at 7. Mishra has a goal of becoming a super GM (2700 Rating) and in the future maybe even becoming a world champion.

Most Expensive Chess Set

This thing probably cost the same as two or three of Andrew Tate's watches!

There used to be a time where chess is only played on a physical board, made with wood, or plastic, or another sort of material. Today, as long as we have a device and a internet connect (Basic survival necessities) we can play an unlimited amount of games on sites such as chess.com, and get access to tools that will help us through our chess journey. Right here is the most expensive chess set, The Pearl Royal Chess Set at $4,000,000.

Made by Colin Burn, a jewelry's artist from Australia, the chess set is decorated with different sorts of gems. The pieces has 512 carats of diamonds, sapphires, and South Sea pearls. The board is diamond embellished and is made of crystal glass with white gold and luxurious gemstones. Even the underside have diamonds and is polished perfectly. Only three chess sets was made, which is only available to the extremely rich.

Biggest Chess Piece chesspawn

We seen the most expensive chess set, but there is one chess piece, that cost much less, that can look as cool? This hand carved chess piece is a king, at 30 feet tall, with a diameter of 9 feet, 2 inches, standing in front of the World Chess Hall of Fame, which is right across the street from the Saint Louis Chess Club.  (9 meters tall, 2.7 meters diameter)

This huge chess piece was made of African Sapele Mahogany and is covered with a tung oil sealant. This large piece is also a very heavy one, this piece sits at 10,860 pounds and is made from the R.G Ross Construction Company. Getting the record at 2018, the 10th anniversary of the chess club, this chess piece was put in place near the start of the famous US Chess Championship and US Women's Chess Championship.
