Hello everyone! On July 5th, 2022, I played the early Titled Tuesday. Based on my games, there were many interesting games that I wanted to share with all of you.
Round 1:
Overall, it was a very hectic, back and forth game
! I started with a winning position, but allowed chances with 23... Rxc2, and later went onto blunder into a draw with 32. Qxg4.
Round 2:
In summary, the opening was very boring with many trades. I allowed a chance with 21... c5. It later simplified into an isolated queen pawn position, and I ended up taking over with 25. d5. Then, I was winning with the blunder of 26... Qxc6
.
Round 3:
In this 3rd round, I played the famous grandmaster and streamer, Daniel Naroditsky. I had my chance with 25... Bf5, but blundered with 25... Qe7, which allowed the tactic of 26. Nxd4. After that, it ended up going downhill
.
Round 4:
I equalized out of the opening pretty quickly, but I blundered with 18... Na6, which allowed Rxc8 followed by b4, and my knight essentially got trapped. I ended up missing my last chance to save the game with the awesome move, 34... Kh5.
Round 5:
Incredible position towards the end with a rook sacrifice to promote the two pawns. This resulted in a nice win, leaving me at 2.5/5 in the tournament, and the players that I played were significantly higher rated than me.
Round 6:
I was doing fine throughout the game until the one blunder at the end. If I had played 31... Rxd4, then the situation would have been much better.
Round 7:
Interesting game; I was winning early on, but then slowly let the advantage slip.
Round 8:
Good game from me! I played the IQP position well, and ended up getting a big attack.
Round 9:
Out of all the games, this was the most notable. After 39... Rxh3, I panicked since I trapped my rook, but I had this AMAZING resource with 40... g5, saving the game. I ended up with an extra pawn and grinded that position into a win!
Round 10:
Close game! I had multiple chances in the rook endgame, but I was unable to find the correct defenses at the right time.
Round 11:
The opening was a success, but I shouldn't have gone all in with 23... Rf6.
All in all, there were many interesting and educational mistakes and good moves within these games that can be learned from.
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
