At just 10 years, 8 months, and 16 days old, Argentine prodigy Faustino Oro tied for first place with Colombian Cristian Hernández in a closed tournament at the Barcelona Chess Club, becoming the youngest player to secure an International Master norm. Oro, only the third player in history to achieve this before turning 11, remained undefeated through nine rounds, recording six wins and three draws for a final score of 6.5 points. This marks his third and final norm, following his second in Medellín last month and his first in Argentina in October 2023.
