The Trompowsky Attack : Attack Without Tack
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to your favorite series on the internet, opening recap. Today we are going to be looking at the all annoying Indian Game. Seriously, in all of the times playing the famed Queen's pawn opening, the Indian Game is probably the most annoying opening of all time and it absolutely infuriates a player. Before we look at the Kings Indian Defense in a later edition, we have to look at this remedial potion for such a nuisance, the Trompowsky attack.
What is the Trompowsky Attack?
Basically, The trompowsky attack is an attack that basically targets that Indian game knight from the start. By playing Bishop to g5, we aim to trade off the knight and double up Black's pawn structure. Now, this opening is not played that much at the top level, as Grandmasters tend to sweat it out and play in the Indian game move order, but if you know you are playing a high rated opponent and want them to snap out of the Indian game move order, the Trompowsky Attack is just for you. So without further ado, let us start.

Important Game to analyze
This game was archived by Chess.com in 2016. I felt it important to share here as it shows that the Trompowsky is played at a bigger level and can be used to great effect even against players like Carlsen. I decided to add all the comments Chess.com made as I hope it would give you an even better perspective at seeing how the game worked out. Also, they are much better at commenting on games than me

Reflections.
All in all, I still prefer a Trompowsky against the Indian Move Order. It seems much better playing an attacking game against the slow indian game. However, one thing to touch down on is that there are just a few things to memorize against the indian game and those are:
1- Castle quickly
2- Take up Queenside space
3- be proactive with your pawns
All this said, I would still prefer to play this attack.
Thanks for tuning in to today's blog, and next time we will be back with another interesting edition.
