I premoved every move against Martin!

*Knowing I only have access to all of chess.com's bots for a limited time, my blog posts in the near future will mainly be about the bots.*

THE IDEA

I almost never play Rapid chess. I just don't ever know if I have 20 minutes in a row to dedicate to a chess game. I prefer blitz or bullet games. The latter I play over and over again on one minute time controls, vainly hoping for a win. When doing this, I often premove. A lot. There is nothing more exciting than a sequence of premoves executed correctly that crush your opponent (Queen mate with 5 seconds left on the clock, I'm looking at you).

One day, as I was meditating on the sheer awesomeness of one minute chess, I had a brilliant idea. "What would happen if I premoved every move against the worst bot on chess.com?" (Chaos is the answer)

How could I lose against Martin (Quite easily, apparently)?

THE GAME

The opening I thought was solid enough. In a real game, I would have done some stuff differently, but I was making sure to develop my pieces and castle while keeping my pieces close. Things were going great until 18. Kh3. I still had an advantage here, but it was quickly disappearing. Martin then blundered his rook (19... Rh6), but, since I was premoving, I missed it and played 20. Bxf6 rather than 20. Bxh6. Things quickly went downhill from there with 22. gxh5, and Martin took the lead for a little bit, but then I played a surprising sequence of moves that worked for a while, starting with 25. Ng5 (In the middle of this, 27. Rg1 was a big blunder grin). 31. Qxc8+ started a very interesting sequence where I sacrificed (This sounds better than blundered) pretty much all of my pieces (I either hung or gave up four queens, two rooks, and a knight by move 54).

By move 80, I was completely winning, but I missed taking his rook, and to finish the game off in truly grand fashion, I gave up two queens to finish with a draw by insufficient material.

In Conclusion...

Wow. What a game. Chaos describes it quite well. That said, it was incredibly fun. I challenge you to premove every move against the bot of your choice and share the results here!

I did analyze this game and here are the results:

Martin Accuracy: 33.5

My Accuracy: 33.8

Martin's Opening/My Opening: ?/?

Martin's Middle game/My Middle game: ??/?

Martin's Endgame/My Endgame: ?/?

I blundered 13 times with 12 missed wins. Martin blundered four times and had twelve missed wins. However, Martin made 14 mistakes while I only made 6 (Take that, Martin!).

The result wasn't quite what I wanted, but that's ok. Maybe next time, I'll just premove the scholar's mate.

Final Notes

  • As you might have guessed, yes I did see some of Martin's moves. He moved so fast that he caught up to me sometimes. Also, my premoves froze when he put me in check. A lot of the sane moves were probably ones I saw.
  • I'm looking to @Hornetcruise and @Lightning for blog inspiration.

Have a great day!
