The Reason...
Hello everyone. Here I am with another blog. In this one, we would try to learn the reason for the location of all the pieces in chess... So, let's start.

1. The King
The King is a crucial piece in chess, AND WE ALL KNOW IT. Now, the question is, WHY IS IT LOCATED on e1 and not any other square?
Reason for position:
It is located on e1 to make the game more "adventurous" by the Knight forks (As in the figure above). One more reason is that in most of the battles we see in movies, etc., the king is in front of the army.
2. The Queen
The Queen is the most important piece on the chess board, AND AGAIN WE ALL KNOW IT. Without any commander, no army is complete. The Queen acts as a commander who commands the pieces to attack the enemy forces.
Reason for position:
The principal reason for its position (d1) is that most of the time, the Queen checkmates the king soon after entering the battlefield (As in the diagram above). Another reason is that the "commander" accompanies the king in the field...
Not only this checkmate, but many checkmates happen from the Queen's position.
3. Bishop
Bishop is another piece which is the part of both black and white forces. Every king needs an intelligent courtier in his court and the bishop is the person these kings need.
Reason for position:
One reason for bishops' position (f1 and c1) is to remove the defender knight from the Scholar's Mate position (As in the position above).
Second reason is the scholar's mate ITSELF! The battery for the scholar's mate is most of the time built from a bishop and a Queen.
Not only this checkmate, but many checkmates happen from the bishop's position.
4. Knight
Knight is another piece which is present in the forces of both colours. It is the soldier who is very brave and loyal. It's positions are g1 and b1.
Reason for position:
In the above position, we can see that the Queen is about to checkmate the enemy king but knight saves the game!
Look at this position
In this position, the knight checkmates the king in a way popularly known as The Smothered Mate... This hence proves the importance of knights.
The knight is also used in forking at times.
5. Rook
Rook is one more piece in the army of both the black and white forces. A rook can be replaced as an elephant in the battlefield who crushes the rival army from just its feet. It's positions are a1 and h1
Reason for position:
In the above position, the rook creates a battery with the queen to checkmate the enemy king. Had the rook been not there, the checkmate would not have been possible in this way...
6. Pawns
Pawns can be considered as the normal soldiers in the army. There are eight soldiers in every force. Pawns start from a2 and end at h2.
Reason for position:
In this position, the black king is prone to a checkmate threat but the pawn saved the king from it. Many checkmates are saved from the movement of the pawn / pawns from there initial position.
Second reason can the protection from the "Good old Scholar's Mate" as in this position.
Pawns can save the pieces almost every time in every game. I am not writing those in this blog as... I CANNOT WRITE IT.
I think many reasons for positions aren't there in the blog. I have written almost every reason I knew. But, if you know more of them DO COMMENT DOWN...
Also, I wish you a very Happy New Year 2022. I pray to God for everyone's happiness this year.
